Sometimes You Gotta Get Out Of Your Own Way

Posted on: August 31st, 2010 by Beth Heilman

Have you ever been there?

There’s something you know you’re supposed to be doing. Something big.

Success Steps

Take The First Step

You know you have a purpose way bigger than the everyday “stuff” you’ve
been doing up ’til now, but you keep hesitating.

Oh, you’ll get to it when you’re caught up on the bills…when the kids are
back in school…when the kids are out of school…when the planets are in
perfect alignment and a double rainbow appears above your house…on a
Sunday, at noon. Do I need to keep going?

You’re smart and you’ve probably figured this out already, but there’s never
gonna be a perfect time…for anything.

So…what about now?

It’s time to get out of your own way. People out there need what you have to
offer.

You have gifts and talents that no one else on this planet possesses. Use
them…share them…and make a wonderful living with them.

How do you know what it is you’re supposed to be doing?

You hear this term a lot, but what are your passions? What would you be doing
even if you didn’t get paid for it?

The two questions that have helped me the most are: “What do I love doing?”-
remember it’s not work if you love what you do and; “What am I good at?”-
these are talents you have (or you want to develop) that compliment what you
love and can be turned into a business.

Channel your “Inner Entrepreneur” and listen for the answer. You have
everything inside you you’ll ever need to succeed. Sometimes you just gotta
get out of your own way.

What suggestions do you have for getting out of your way and getting on with
your purpose? Leave a comment below…

Want To Start A Home Based Business? The Best Time Is NOW…

Posted on: August 31st, 2010 by Beth Heilman

Are you getting a little nervous? Maybe a lot nervous. Seems that every time you turn on the radio, TV or check the news on the computer there’s a new addition to the economic crisis.

Talk of lay-offs, downsizing and rising unemployment has created the perfect storm for home based business owners. Now, more than ever, is the time for you to create your own “Economic Stimulous Package” to protect you and your family from this crazy economy.

Now is the best time to take control of your financial future by either starting your own home based business or really working your business if you’re already involved in one. Because frankly, if you’re waiting for for some kind of miraculous bailout, it will be a long time coming.

Here are some things that make now the perfect time to venture into a home based business of your own:

Baby boomers are coming of age, retirement age that is. And those who aren’t quite there yet are sure thinking about it. If you have a 401K or IRA, have you looked at it lately? If yours is like mine,it ain’t pretty.Wall Street’s little dance the last few months has lots of folks wondering if they can retire when they’d planed, if at all. A very large segment of the population have not prepared for their “golden years” believing Social Security will keep them all warm and toasty after they retire. Those folks will need the funds to keep them comfortable without having to flip burgers at the local fast food joint. You can show them a better way.

Changes Sign

Its Time For A Change

These are the twenty and thirty somethings that have become dissatisfied with working a regular J-O-B because they know there’s more to life than showing up to work on time and putting in their eight hours at something that’s not fulfilling for them. These folks watched their parents work long and hard at stressful jobs. They realize there’s more to life than just work and they want to make a contribution that’s meaningful (and make a good living at the same time). They’re tech savvy, smart and can make things happen.

People are worried about the economy and you can offer them hope. By starting your own home based business in direct sales or network marketing you can offer a solution to those wondering if they’re even going to have a job in the near future. Look at all the real estate agents, mortgage loan officers and construction workers that have been effected by the housing slump (myself included). Now you can show all those folks how to supplement or even replace their decreased paycheck.

The cost of starting your own home based business is only a fraction of what starting a traditional brick and mortar business would be. Where else but a home based business can you make such a small investment (usually anywhere from $50 to around $1000) and have the potential to make a six figure residual income? Is it work? Yes. Will it take effort and commitment? Yes. Will it happen overnight? No, but nothing that’s worthwhile and lasting ever is.

What I can tell you is this, you can take charge of how you’re making money. You can flourish in this economy amid all the doom and gloom. You can be free to spend time with your family, take that dream vacation and have that beautiful home you’ve always wanted. The sky is only falling for those chicken littles that aren’t willing to take a chance on themselves. Create your own “Economic Stimulous Package” with your own home based business starting today.

The Secret To Having Raving Fans Begins With One Simple Thing

Posted on: August 10th, 2010 by Beth Heilman

Let me clue you in on a widely known, but little used secret to building
loyalty and trust both in you and in your business. It’s a skill that’s so
easy to learn that most new entrepreneurs who get caught up in all the hype
and excitement of their business opportunity completely overlook.

Relationship Listening Skills

Happiness Is Being Heard

That skill?

Listening.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m just as guilty as anyone else (well, I used to be) of
talking excitedly about my business to just about anyone who would listen. I
could talk at about 75 miles per hour (with gusts up to 120 🙂 ).

Where did all that verbal gushing get me? Not very far I’ll tell ya that.
(That’s why I’m now a reformed gusher, but I digress)

That point was painfully hammered home to me last week when I was invited to
look at a home based business. It’s a company that’s been around for about 15
years, but was “so much better that it used to be, you’ll hardly recognize
it”. yeah…right…uh huh.

Okay, curiosity got the best of me and I went to take a peak. I must admit,
the lady who called me (said someone gave her my business card. Hmmm…) was
nearly hyperventillating she was so excited.

How could I say no?

When I got to the company office and we exchanged pleasantries, I was
escorted into a conference room. It was comfortable enough. Soon the video
presentation started. It was a parade of happy associates, flashy cars and
beautiful homes that could be mine once I join.

There were the third party testimonials, magazine articles and a celebrity
endorsement by a man of questionable hairstyle (won’t mention any names).

These folks obviously loved their company and God bless ’em for it. I wish
them well. But, you know what (or who) they totally glossed over?

Me.

There were no questions about my family, my interests or what I was doing for
a living. No inquiries about my hopes, dreams, fears or reasons for having my
own business in the first place.

Nada, zip, zilch.

When I asked the female half of the team (her husband did most of the
presentation) who gave her my card, the story changed about three times.
In-teresting…

My point in telling you all this is that you can have all the enthusiasm in
the world. You can have the most super-stupendous, state-of-the-art products
and company on the planet, but if you don’t make an effort to really connect
with people you want to serve it doesn’t make a bit of difference.

No relationship, no sale.

Sure there will be some who will go for the flash and buy or join no matter
what. Those folks will stick around til the next new, shiny object catches
their eye…or until they find someone listens, someone who really takes
interest in them and their dreams.

Let that someone be you.
