Using Aromatherapy Lavender Oil Can Ease Stress The Natural Way

When it comes to aromatherapy, lavender oil ranks right near the top for relieving stress. The next time you're stressed out from a hectic day, reach for a bottle of lavender oil. No, not to drink. The aroma from pure lavender oil will soothe and calm your nerves and ease the cares of the day away.

Lavender oil use dates back many centuries. It has been used as a medicine, to add flavor to food and drinks and for aromatherapy.

Lavender oil is made mostly from English Lavender (lavandula augustifolia), but other types of lavender are also used. How to make lavender oil, you ask? Well, unless you're the proud owner of a very large still, it's probably easier to leave it to the professionals.   • Dried lavender has been used for many years to scent linens.
  • You'll find lavender oil used in teas, cosmetics, lotions, jellies, candles and massage oils to name a few. It's used not only to help you to relax, if you've ever experienced it's wonderful aroma, you know. It's absolutely heavenly.
  • Massage therapists mix lavender oil in with their massage oil for it'saromatherapy benefits. You'll feel so relaxed, you won't want to leave the table.

So, the next time the you come home at the end of a crazy day; the boss was screaming, you got cut off in traffic, the kids (spouse, dog, gerbil, whatever) are all needing your attention. Run yourself a nice bath, add some nice aromatherapy lavender oil, light some candles, soak for awhile and just breathe. Ahhhh, doesn't that feel better?
