You know, nowadays, it is WAY too easy to start a business, and even easier to "quit!"

Avoidance

Are you looking at that new business idea in order to avoid the hard work of building your current business that you've already invested time, money and energy into? Avoidance is easy, and the real work of building a business, well … it's work! It's not easy or comfortable to reach way beyond your comfort zone every day, to talk to new people. It's scary! Avoidance is easier, you can sit in front of your computer and look at other businesses. This leads to the "network marketing junkie" phenomenon where a person goes from company to company, thinking the grass is always greener somewhere else… and never getting any closer to achieving your REAL dreams.

Fancy System

Are you looking at that new business idea because it has a new fancy internet marketing system? Well, I hate to say this, but it has been my experience and observation that the biggest network marketing businesses are built offline, not via the internet. Ouch! The internet is a great way to meet people, and when I was active in the business I generated thousands of leads from my websites that helped me to build my business. However, if you're looking for stable, long term residual income in network marketing, in my humble observation and experience, comes from building strong local teams. Local networking is simpler, faster, and MUCH less expensive! AND it helps people overcome their biggest fears, because the meetings offer a strong culture and support system, which is the real "glue" that holds your network together.

Egoism

Are you looking at that new business idea just so you can recruit the people into YOUR business? Unfortunately this still happens even in the 21st century when by now, you would think that everyone understands about permission marketing!

I sincerely hope that you are not doing this dear reader. There are so many fun, simple and effective ways to build a business, that leave you feeling GOOD about yourself at the end of the day. Don't worry, I've got some great ideas that may help.
