About Beth Heilman
HomeBizHearts.com has been through a couple of transitions since it was started in 2001 and the reason for this site is just as compelling today as it was when it first came into being.
Hi, my name is Beth Heilman and I am so excited to be sharing HomeBizHearts.com with you here today. If you've been in Network Marketing for a while or are just getting started, you'll find tons of information and insights in these pages.
If you're like me, chances are you love the company you're with and love the product you sell (or you're looking for one to love). I found my company years ago when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter in 1986. At that time I was a military wife and mother of soon to be three little kids. There was always way more month left at the end of the money, I couldn't afford childcare; yet I wanted to do something that made a contribution to the household…and something that was mine. Finding that company changed everything for me. It gave me the confidence in myself to pursue a Real Estate career that lasted 20 years. It also gave me a "home" to come back to when my life took a big turn.
In 2005, after years of being an A+ personality and basically never taking time out for me, I got really, really sick. I had only been back in Las Vegas a short time from a month-long stay in Colombia, S.A. adopting my son, Emanuel and developed what I later learned was Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. If you've ever experienced the pain and exhaustion you feel when you have a really bad case of the flu, you know how that feels right? Imagine it never going away. That was my daily reality.
I'd been chasing doctors for a couple of years and trying anything I could to reduce the pain and fatigue. Eventually I found some relief by taking natural supplements and reducing my stress level as much as I could. I maintained at my job for a couple of years. It was in an office and except for the times I had to go out and show property ( and move around a lot) I could deal with the aches and pains. Pretty soon though, life got extremely interesting…
As I said earlier, for the last 20 years, I've been a Real Estate Agent selling new homes here in Las Vegas (yes, people really do live here). I worked directly for builders and worked from a sales office (or trailer or motorhome or garage, you name it, I've probably sold from it). When the housing crunch hit, I still thought I was pretty safe since sales folks usually work on straight commission (I did) and we have a pretty low overhead. Boy, was I wrong!
On October 30, 2007, I was called into the manager's office (at 8:00am on my day off, mind you) and told that since the company wouldn't be building nearly as many homes as they had predicted, that my position was being eliminated. Quite a shocker to a single mom with a five- year-old at home.
After the fog cleared and reality set in, I realized that I'd really been given the opportunity to do what I've wanted to do for years. Work from home.
Luckily, prior to that fateful day, many of us "out in the field" saw what was happening with the housing industry and were looking for other ways to make income.
That's when I found a company called SBI! With the tools they had, I could truly build my own online business, not just a website. What I saw about having a business online fascinated me. Today, I build my online business sites on WordPress, including the one you're reading right now. The resources you'll find on HomeBizHearts.com will help you do the same thing.
As for my company, they're in the Skin Care and Cosmetics business and have been for over 55 years. They're also international. (No, It's not the one with the pink Cadillac
) Their research, development and cutting edge technology is second-to-none in the skin care and anti-aging field. They are transforming lives through business and the use of their products all over the world.
My reason for getting into Direct Sales or Network Marketing in the first place was so that eventually I could have my own business, make my own schedule and work from home. Life kind of got in the way for awhile and finally I'm doing just that. Yeah!
There's still the feeling among Direct Sales and Network Marketing companies that you have to build your business the way it's always been done; one-to-one, in person. There is a better way. Mind you, I love my network marketing company and the entire concept it's based on. I also know that the old ways of building a network marketing or direct sales business (make a list of friends and family, call the list, be politely rejected by the list, call the list again) just won't cut it in today's economy.
By incorporating online marketing with network marketing, it's opened up a whole new world. No more one hour commutes (one way), no more nine hour days in the office only to get home after dark. No more rushing home to fix dinner, to get Emanuel ready for bed, to collapse from exhaustion only to get up at 5:30 the next morning and do it all over again.
Now I still get up early, but it's to check stats on the computer, return emails and phone calls and get ready for the day ahead all while drinking my coffee at the computer in my home office. Sweet.
Life is much less stressful these days. I'm doing something I truly love and really feel like I can make a difference(and a great living). Best of all, I can do it on my schedule. The only cranky boss I have to deal with is my son when he can't get his favorite toy to work. That, I can handle.
That is the life I wish for you, my friends. Not the cranky son part
, but the freedom to build a home business that will give you the lifestyle you desire on your own terms. With the resources and tips you'll find in these pages, you'll have the tools you need to do just that.
I'm so very grateful to Mashubi Rochelle who started HomeBizHearts.com back in 2001 and to Marcus Hochstadt who took over in 2006 and got it to where it is today. With that kind of solid foundation and the new information I'll be sharing with you, there's no limit to where your business can go.
Whether Network Marketing is a part-time or full-time business for you, that's the beauty of it. You get to choose.
The most important step is the first one, just take action. No matter what stage of the process you're at, we're in this thing together. Drop me a note and let me know how you're doing. Let me know what you'd like to see in the upcoming newsletters or in the pages of this site. I'd love to hear your ideas. HomeBizHearts.com is about you and your business.
The best time to start is NOW.
