Looking for an oily skin toner that works? Let me tell you a little story. Once upon a time there was a girl with very oily skin. She tried cleaning it with what was supposed to be a pure soap. (Remember the one that floats?) Then for a skin care toner, she used what her grandma used for everything<\/strong>, peroxide.<\/p>\n

She really didn't care, "Skin toner", she said, "who needs it? This stuff works just fine." As time passed, she noticed that her skin was just as oily. In fact, it was even more oily<\/strong> than before. The only thing she had to show for her efforts was a big blond streak<\/strong> running the length of her very dark hair.<\/p>\n

We're not talking about Elvira, Mistress of the Dark here, guys. That was me. Trying to save a couple of pennies, I made myself look like a skunk. A skunk with really oily skin.<\/p>\n

But, it didn't end there.<\/p>\n

Still trying to fix the problem, I found some skin care toners for oily skin at the department store. Telling the person at the counter that I have really<\/strong> oily skin, she recommended one of those national brands I'm sure you're familiar with. (won't drop names here, but it starts with a "C").<\/p>\n

Two words come to mind when I think of that experience, and neither one is pleasant, burn and sting. Just the fumes from that stuff made my eyes water. Until it dried, breathing wasn't an option either. Those fumes again. The lady at the counter told me it would take a few days, then I'd get used to it.<\/p>\n

Please, I could have put that stuff in my gas tank and my car would have run for a week.<\/p>\n

This story is to save you the same fate. You don't need to torture your skin to control the oil. Here's an oily skin tip, look for an oily skin toner that contains ingredients that are good for your skin. Pro-Vitamin B5 <\/a>is wonderful for your skin and so is salicylic acid.<\/p>\n

Please, don't worry about the "acid" in salicylic acid. It's fabulous for acne-prone and sensitive skin. It helps remove the dry, dead layer of surface skin without being harsh. Try it, you'll like it.<\/p>\n

Luckily, this story has a happy ending. After some searching and finding an oily skin toner that was "just right", the girl who no longer looks like an oily skunk lives happily ever after. The Beginning.<\/p>\n
